Egg baby project
1. How does this standard relate to the standard?
7LS2d:
This assignment relates to the standards by showing that all genes have at least 2 possible alleles, and that only one of them will show up as the phenotype in that organism. For example, hair color; possible alleles are dark hair (dominant) or light (recessive). If one parent has homozygous dark hair (HH) and the other has heterozygous dark (Hh), the offspring has a 50% chance of HH or Hh!
2. What are the steps you took to complete and do well on this assignment?
I used punett square to find out what gene I will have. I have paper that will be my fake husband gene paper.
I write the expression of how I got the gene and I got dark eyes, dark hair, straight hair, attached ear, and no
dimples. If I had 50% of the same thing then I had to choose the one that had more letter. For example, Ll ll
lower case l has more l then capital l so what ever lowe case l stands for will be your gene.
3. The assignment demonstrates the following strengths....
It demonstrate the following strengths by using punett square and learning more about gene.
By doing this project, I understanded more about how to find my gene. This project had made me
understand more about gene, so I was glad that Ms. Juarez gave me this project.
4. I could have improved my work on this assignment by...
I could have improve my work on this assignment by coloring more and make it more clean.
I also should have brought an egg instead of just drawing. Taking effort and time would have gotten me to
write neater and better understanding.
5. How will you apply the skills you learned from the assignment in either the real world when your an adult or in other classes while you are still a student?
I can use this skill when I marry and get a child or tell others about how to do this what their genes are.
I figured out how to apply this skill in the world or still as a student. When I grow and go to college, if there is a
project like this, I can use this skill from middle school to college.
