Indo- European Aryans invaded India in 1500s BC. Indian people were divided to 5 different social groups. They were the Brahmanas, kshatriyas, Vaisyas, Sudra, and Pariah "Harijans." Brahmanas, which is located on the top of the caste system, are the "priests." Kshatriyas means "warriors and rulers."Vaisyas means skilled traders, merchants, and minor officials. Sudras means Unskilled worker. Pariah means "Harijians" also outcasters, "Untouchable," and " Children of God." Brahmins are the highest, Kshatriyas are the next highest, Vaisyas are the middle class, Sudras are before Vaisyas. Pariah "Harijans" are the lowest in the class table. Only the people within the caste system were allowed teach and go to school. Pariahs were not considered to be part of the caste at all, all they did was pick trash and work with dead bodies, therefore, they were called "Untouchable" too.
